Last night, I attended the Religion and Music event. This session featured L.D. Russell, and was originally supposed to be about the relationship between music and religion. However, since such a small group showed up, it turned into a conversation about Beyoncé's super bowl halftime show. We discussed Feminism and the Black Lives Matter movement. While this event did not end up being very relevant to this class, it was very interesting and I heard some interesting perspectives on these issues.
